Default Can I copy a Blu-Ray? (my movie)

Ok, so I starred in a feature film recently (nothing major). Actually invested in it too which is nice, and I have a Blu-Ray of it (not commercial, a BD-R), was wondering if I bought an internal Blu-Ray burner could I just copy it?

Also I must say, from seeing the movie a few times in the theater, on a dvd and then on the Blu-Ray, the difference is striking.

I wore a black hooded sweatshirt in a few scenes. It had a bands logo on the back so I turned it inside out. The director, who also edited the film, never even noticed this until we saw the blu-ray. When we watched it the clarity was so crisp you could not only see that the hoodie was inside out but you could see the stitching.

Would like to make a personal copy for myself before it gets released officially on Blu in the fall (and trust me I'm pushing for this)

In my opinion, I believe you can if that BD is not copy protection. But, why don't you want the official one again? or they'll delete the scene? What movie is that?

Technically you could copy it, if copy protection is not on the disk. However, check with the copyright owners before you copy it. They might even give you a complementary copy.

If it's a lower budget film, I doubt they would spend the extra bucks to apply the copy protection on it. Also, since it's a BD-R it maybe a test disc to see how the encode looked...

Yeah, the topic creator doesn't need to be so arrogant.

This has nothing to do with copying but the clarity and detail of High Definition.

I just did three weeks extra on set for the opening premonition scene of Final Destination 4 3D.

Initially they had some dummies to fill out stands and mixed real people between.
They are using high definition 3D rigs and when they started shooting, they realized you could tell they were dummies.
At that time they started looking for more extras and moving existing extras around for different angles.

I love HD, 3D and the FD series. I REALLY hope they close the FD series with this one.

First off thanks for the copying advice. I'm not going to copy it i just wanted to find out if copying a BDR is possible. Second in defense to a few jabs, I only mentioned I starred in the film and own a portion of it bc I didnt want it to seem like I came across a leak of a movie or stole it. Im finding it hard to be modest when mentioning im starring in a film. Its really not a big deal but when its brought up it tends to come off like that sometimes. I really dislike that aspect. I wish it could be as common as deskjob but its not. Anyways for those that need to know the movie is called "bad biology" its indie and pretty raw. Google the trailer, its nsfw btw. But regardless having a blu of your own film is quite amazing.
