Default Shoot'em Up or AVP2?

I am returning 30 Days of Night today because I did not like the movie, although PQ and SQ were great. Should I get either Shoot'em Up or AVP2?

hmmm hard choice. Both cheesey check-your-brain-at-the-door type action movies. Depends on your mood really. Shoot em up is an action movie while AVP 2 is more the sci-fi feel. depends on what you're in the mood for.

Ditto.

I haven't seen Shoot 'Em Up, but watched AVP:R the other night, and found it quite enjoyable. Horrible in terms of being taken as a straight story, but if you kinda check out and just have fun with it, it was pretty darn cool.

AVP2 was horrible! If you are asking for a choice between Shoot 'Em Up or AVP2, I would choose Shoot 'Em Up every single time. The PQ and AQ on Shoot 'Em Up is fantastic. AVP2 is just a very bad movie. You can always rent before you buy to make your own decision, of course.

im not a super fan of either one, but shoot em up was at least interesting and diffferent and a lot better than AVP2. I'm still completely blown away that someone could make an aliens vs Predator series completely forgettable.

I enjoyed the first one but it still wasn't the home run it should have been. the second one was barely above a sci fi channel original movie.. imo anyways

I watched about 30 minutes of Shoot 'em Up before turning it off. I managed to finish AVP:R. I would choose that one.

It's always wonderful when the general concensus is that nobody agrees.

My reply is: If you own AVP, you might as well get AVP:R to compliment it. Otherwise, get Shoot 'Em Up!

It's kind of weird to compare these two movies because they are different genres of movies. Shoot'em Up was an over the top violent action movie with good actors/good performances and AVP is a bad science fiction/horror flick. It might be easier to compare AVP with say Cloverfield and Shoot'em Up with War. IMO, all of these movies are senseless fun so just flip a coin.

Thanks for all the replys. I own about 20-25 BD's and typically buy movies that I think I will watch more than once, which is the only reason I am taking 30 Days of Night back. Is Shoot'em Up worthy of repeat viewing?

Actually, if you didn't like 30 days of night I don't think you will like either shoot em up or AVPR.

Shoot Em UP is silly fun, but AVP2 is a worthless effort (good PQ though). I am a HUGE Sci Fi fan, but AVP2 is pretty bad.

You can watch Shoot Em Up over and over. Just for the comedic value and the funny over the top one liners.

...A much, much better movie.

You will laugh your ass off at Shoot 'Em Up it's so ridiculous. Listen, I love action movies, but this movie is just dumb.

I've never seen AVP2 and probably won't, so I can't give much of an opinion on that.

I thought 30 days of night was good and definately worth seeing, but I can't see myself watching it again. So, that is why I am looking for something else. Shoot'em Up sounds like a good bet.
