I don't know about today, but in years gone by they appeared not to be the greatest place to buy from. Several of my friends bought through them (they are built to spec) and some were missing hardware like graphics cards, a second CD drive and software as well. If you do buy from them, check everything before you accept delivery.

Never even heard of them. Don't waste your time or $$$. Just build your own.

I'm surprised that John72953 is the only one who has heard of them; then again, he is a southern Ontario native, and anyone who lives in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) is familiar with MDG, for better or worse.

The MDG name has been around for ~20 years or so (the first computer I bought was assembled through them). They have a number of branches throughout the GTA. I don't know what their reputation is today (as I build my own PCs), but my recommendation is the same as everyone else's: build your own. I am usually disappointed by the quality of the customer service that these shops offer (both before and after taking delivery of said system) that I prefer to grab the bull by the horns.

I have one... Its a computer. My old HP crapped out 3-4 years ago and went with a PC built by MDG. I wish I would have just built one now though.

The Good:
Pick your parts and they put it together. You can get a cheap barebones up to a gaming rig.
They offer incentive deals, buy a PC get a PS3 in the past, upgraded monitor....

The Bad:
Bad CS
High Interest
Loaded with crap unneeded software.

Their CS is terrible, once you buy the machine you don't deal with the actual store.

We bought the new PC and had it set up to make instalment payments. For the first year we didn't see any payments coming out of the bank. Thought for a bit that we got a free PC, as the guy who built/sold it to us was the boyfriend of one of my wife's friends and thought maybe he pulled a fast one. Nope they just assumed we wanted no payments for the first year I guess, good way to jack up the interest some more Then the payments starting coming out but incorrect amounts. We called the store to say the payments weren't right, they told us oh well we don't deal with that you have to call head office kind of thing. Call head office and they tell us they have no record of us on file? Yet payments were coming out. We asked for a balance owing to be mailed to us, to this day 4 years or so later I have yet to see a single piece of mail from them. I told them that we would stop making payments unless we got a payment breakdown sent to us as at this point the PC should be paid off, they said okay, yet still no show. Trying to get a hold of the person I was dealing with is hell, its always a different person.

I recommend you stay far away.

Build your own PC or go to Future Shop or Best Buy and look for a good sale.

Anyone from Canada who has watched 5 minutes of TV knows who MDG is.
