plus the ones with the intel intergrated x3100 alos has them? i thought that the drive would need a dedicated gpu to run blurays.or at least thats wot i thought i read somewhere. guess not.

Does it i would get it maybe. Or tell my neighbor who doesnt want to spend 500 on a BLu ray player but wants a new laptop.

WRONG.....when I was thinking of buying an Inspiron a few weeks ago, I called Dell to verify what I read in their specs.

The Inspiron line ONLY has super video out.

The XPS line ONLY has DVI out.

NEITHER line has HDMI.

Call Dell yourself and ASK, if you don't believe me!

I have a 1525 that I'm typing on at this moment that clearly has an HDMI connection on the side of the laptop. I've had the laptop for a couple of weeks now.

Anyone comment on the 1525 Blu Ray playback and HDMI output? Do you get 1080p? What about sound? And is it HDMI 1.3

For the simple reason that there have been PCs that have factory BD drives and can playback Blu-ray since 2006.

My ex-girlfriend's XPS laptop that her company gave her had HDMI out. No, I wasn't imagining things either. I was impressed when I saw the feature.
