Hey Everyone

I am in the market some some new front speakers. I have about $150 to spend on a pair...

Best buy has some Sony Floor standers for $159 model number ssf-5000 which are looking good, but do any of you guys out there of some good deals on some speakers right now that fit into my budget? Thanks!

I thought you already decided on some???

Hmm..

$150 a pair, I'd say it depends on if you have a Center you're trying to match, or are you planning on getting a new one in the future?

lol well i opted to buy some rears last time i really would like some floor standers for the front. the center i have is the Sony SSCN5000. And for my rears i purchased Insignias from best buy

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1138085354138

the fronts i just cannot seem to find any for a great deal apart from those sony's for $150 or the polks from circuit city for $129. Surely there are some more out there that will fall within my price range?

What are the make and model of the surround speakers you purchased. Ideally you'd try to find speakers that are timbre matched. Are you looking for towers specifically or will bookshelf speakers work too? $150 isn't much to work with, but there are options.

I would Timbre match the fronts, but wouldn't worry about the surrounds.

I just bought my Polk fronts and center from Amazon Sunday. My fronts shipped out, but they put my center on backorder yesterday.

Timbre matching the rears to the fronts is not critical, but it does make a difference when sound is panning back and forth on surround soundtracks. It's also very helpful for multi-channel audio playback. For example, tt wouldn't sound good to pair smooth, airy speakers up front with harsh, forward sounding surround speakers when listening to multi-channel audio.

thanks for the link, I am looking for a new center speaker and I think i want to spend no more than $100.
Then again, eventually I plan to upgrade all the speakers, but not this year.
