Got an email from J&R today that the new Onkyo SR606 is in stock and ready for shipping,just passing the information along.

That seems like a really nice receiver for the price! It's $457 on Amazon.com currantly also. Hopefully my stimulas check comes, I may pick one up!

The only negative I can see is only haveing 2 componat ins and no pre-outs (besides LFE).

Congratulations! Got my 805 a week ago. It's great fun pulling it out of the box and getting it all set up. Have you picked a first movie to test out? I would suggest I, Robot!

My G-d...is it me or does this Receiver forum EXPLODE with threads about Onkyo in particular???

Anyways, I noticed this "606" model in the last issue of Crutchfield I received, and couldn't believe that this class was up for an update already; I bought my 605 back in November of last year to replace a 600.

I've got mine coming from Circuit City... 499 with a 10% online coupon code makes it 450... couldn't pass it up, can't wait til it comes!!!

you could have got a 705 for $523 shipped or a 805 for $620 shipped. The 606 isnt any better than the 605. same power.

how do you like yours? I was ready to pull the trigger on one, but started hearing about the lip sync issue with these units.

Love it so far. Haven't had any issues with lip sync. Makes you want to watch all your movies again. Didn't realize what I was missing with my lossy setup.

Paid $664 on Amazon with Amazon Prime free shipping.

This dude I work with just bought one. I had him sold on a Yamaha, but he had a $200.00 Gift card to Circuit City AND a 15% off coupon, so who the heck could blame him.

has anyone had any experience with the 606 yet?

i want to go to CC and pick it up but want to know everything about it first

(i know it is basically the 605 with more HDMI in's) - but does it also have overheating issues like the 605?

i am debating between the yammy v663 and the 605/606...any help?
