Default Circular Room

What would be the best shape for a home theater to have?
I've searched google for a home theater located in a circular room but couldn't find anything. I was curious because my friend has a huge circular room at the edge of his house and I was telling him it would be the perfect place to put a 7.1 surround sound setup and 200" projection screen but he thinks his rectangular living room would be best. What do you guys think?

you could make both work, just as easily as you could make both NOT work.

Circular would be the worst shape. Though I never saw a large circular room in a house before.

In theory a rectangular room would be better (but would depend on the dimentions) and a trapezoid/ elongated pentagone the best (since we are talking shapes).

the circle has two major flaws
1) it is an equilateral/equiangular shape (so it would have the same issues as a square room)
2) a circle (in theory - a real circle) has each wall angled as it's tangent line at that point. so it becomes extremely reflective and many nodes will happen

Hehe, a circular room might work if you have all your speakers in the middle of it, but otherwise, you will be VERY susceptible to whispering gallery modes. If you are to put a home theater in a circular room, I would highly suggest room treatment and equalization.
