Great films for sure and very welcome on blu-ray. A shame they haven't included Road To Rio, my own personal favourite, but that may come eventually if they choose to release the remaining Road films.

I just realised in the original post that these are Kino Lorber releases which are normally Region A locked. However, after reading your comment, I've checked that Road To Rio is playable on Region B as well much to my surprise.

So many thanks to you for letting me know about the Rio blu-ray.

Only one person verified that, and they were using a Panasonic player, which tends to be region friendly, so I'd be wary of it being region B compatible until there's further confirmation.

Thanks MifuneFan for that tip. Perhaps it's worth me dropping off an e-mail to Kino Lorber and asking them. Or maybe I should just get myself a multi-region player - it would make things easier.

HOLY CRAP!!! Have these undergone any restoration since the DVD release?

I know I'm bound to pick these up sooner or later. Hope they use those posters (or some variation) for the cover art.

I wish they would sell them together. Universal put out the 4 films in a trunk like box.

Panasonic players are not region friendly.
Some of their older models were able to play SOME locked titles using a combination of keypad presses but it didn't work with all titles and unless the title was properly region free normal playback wouldn't be possible without the MENU trick or other combinations

So only Road to Hong Kong left to go then

Panasonic players more than any other are compatible with many region B titles using a top menu trick. Check out various threads on the subject here. I'm not saying that's the case here, but certainly there is something different about many Panasonic players when it comes to playing certain region locked BD's. Sorry for not elaborating more before.

Ultimately, despite my poor phrasing, I'm just trying to ensure that that member doesn't buy a BD that is believed to be region B friendly from a label that has predominantly locked most of their titles over the last several years. Another confirmation from someone would be great.

Also, Road to Hong Kong has also already been released

I have a Panasonic recorder from 2013 which works quite often with Top Menu trick but only on certain titles.

Modern new up to date Panasonic players including their UHD players not only do not work with the Top Menu they cannot even be hardware modded for multi region (not for Bluray - dvd still ok) : uk players !

Thanks for the Hong Kong mention. I missed that and it make this latest news all the more satisfying. Cheers

I was hoping for the same thing...I recently bought this collection in DVD form, quality was ok, but this announcement is good.

Road to Morocco was on TCM recently and the quality on that broadcast was better than that DVD version (Maybe it's the source for this Blu-ray)

Good News all around

Steve
