Rambo: First Blood showing in select theater nationwide on May 15th - Blu-ray Forum

As the title suggest, I've come across a nice bit of surprise news regarding the original Rambo, First Blood. It will be shown one night only, at 7:30 PM at select theaters across the country on May 15th. It will be shown in its original aspect ratio with an alternate ending included (in which Rambo dies) and also a brand new interview with Stallone.

So, if you're a fan like me who never got to experience First Blood in the theaters, this is the perfect opportunity to do so. We may never get another chance like this again.

WTF? "alternate ending" is this on the blu ray too?

The alternate ending is on the BD. I think there's actually two alternate endings . . . I haven't watched it in a bit though.

Kirk Douglas was to play Col. Trautman but he quit just before filming started over a script dispute he wanted the original ending from the book were Rambo dies.

I went to see this last night at one of my local theaters, and I'm almost certain that they were playing the Blu-ray version of the movie from a pc drive. At the end of the alternate ending (which is indeed on the Blu-ray release) I saw a Windows desktop being projected onto the screen.

Even though it was great to see it on a truly big screen (mine at home is only 106"

), I don't think it was worth $10 per person. Oh, well. I did it for the experience.
