October 9th is shapping up to be a huge Catalog release day w/ WB's

So far we have Little Shop of Horrors, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, Dead Ringer and now Ice Station Zebra... and who knows what else will be announced the same day by other studios!

This has always been a DVD favorite of mine, and I even voted for the release of this on DVD thru WB / TCM site if I recall correctly.

Hoping that WB's will get the pre-orders listed for Dead Ringer and Ice Station Zebra soon so I can bundle all of them in one order

Warner Bros has really been cranking out their catalog titles. Thank you Warner! Another great classic and another Rock Hudson film! At least Universal and Warner Bros. knows how to treat their catalog film lovers and it's not even Warner's Anniversary. Paramount is pathetic.

Now if we could just get The Enemy Below and Run Silent, Run Deep my submarine collection would be complete.

I have never seen this movie before;and frankly,it's doesn't look like my cup of tea (never liked Hudson). But,the fact that this is fourth WB catalogue title scheduled for October 9th,make it a truly fantastic news!
Hopefully,it will sell well,so they finally can bring more of their 60's/70's stuff to Blu as well.
Btw,this is one of their rare MGM titles, issued on Blu-ray.Hopefully,Point Blank,Bad Day at Black Rock,The Time Machine,The Bad and the Beautiful,The Haunting, etc.won't be far behind.

I would also love to see Point Blank and The Bad and the Beautiful released to BLU also. The commentary on Point Blank DVD is a nice one also.

Point Blank is one of my all time favourite films, and having recently seen The Bad And The Beautiful in a newly struck print on the big screen, I'd be adding that to my collection, too.

Something tells me we could end up seeing a BLU for that film. I think the DVD is considered OOP also if I am not mistaken.

I actually do wish Warner would release 'Exorcist II: The Heretic' on Blu. As well as 'Exorcist III', 'Exorcist: The Beginning' and 'Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist'.

Please tell me WB has rescanned and remastered this film for high def. Ice Station Zebra was shot in 2.20:1 Super Panavision 70 and looked spectacular up on the big screen...even revectored for CINERAMA presentation. It would be shame if this turns out to be yet another lightly-massaged WB DVD port.

I'd have enjoyed this more if the whole of the ice station bit didn't look so much like a film set, it's going to look even worse in HD.

This year both movies-Point Blank and The Bad and the Beautiful-marks their anniversaries (45th and 60th).Given the fact that WHV loves marking them, and that new struck print is made for the The Bad and the Beautiful,i'm somehow dissapointed and surprised not to see them already scheduled/released for this year.
Regardless, here's hoping next year both will arrive on Blu.

Uh no, I'd take Ice Station Zebra over any Exorcist film.
