It'll work if the player is doing the decoding..... but I don't know about these, but I haven't heard a Yammy speaker I've liked!!!

I'd seriously take that money and stick it in a savings account to get yourself a good setup. With HTIB setups, the buyer is often shafted on the quality of the speakers. The speakers often have horrible amplitude ranges and barely any bass management. You will want to spend at least $2000 to get a good system worth the money that you are spending. I realize that $2000 is about 8x what you would pay for the listed system, but it will also make a 1000x difference in audio system detail quality.

I always say that if you are going to spend ANY money, you might as well spend it on something that you will not have to replace in 1 years time.

the best way to answer this is to ask you if you have heard it? or have you heard a similar system? I am sure it will sound pretty decent but by no means expect it to shake the walls of the house.

I had a sony ddw900 HTIB that i used for over a year with the speakers that came with it and i was satisfied with it, it done what it was supposed to do, i had to start somewhere and i have worked my way up from there.....infact i still have the ddw900 but i have just finished upgrading all my speakers and the sound is incredible. If this is your first system and you are just getting into home theater i would say go for it.....the worst thing that can happen is that you don't like it and you can send it back.
