Blu-ray Samurai

Center Chanel position
Alright, so I have 2 options for my center channel. I can either A) put it in front of the TV and have it be about a foot below ear height, or B) put it on the next lower shelf on my TV stand and it'll be about 8 inches off the ground and 2 feet below the listening level. Which would be better?
