Default requiem for a dream

has anyone else seen this movie? did it also make you want to never try any "hardcore" drugs? I think children should be forced to watch this movie. It definently puts into perspective the horrible things that could happen to someone if they decide to go the route of drug dealing.

totally drawing a blank right now. I do remember there was a cowboy who went around selling heroine with some kid. He made his own meth lab in a hotel room and blew up the hotel room at the end.

I also remeber the kid had a stripper over and tied her up and got cracked out and ended up leaving her tied up for a few days on accident. I kicking myself for not remebering now. Was done by the same exact people who did the first one.

I believe you are referring to SPUN. Horrible Movie. Horrible. Not a sequel though as far as I know. Not the same director writer or cast.

i so can't remeber at all. My friend has it and i'm going to call him when i get out of work now. I was told it was same writer/director but then again, it was my friend that told me this; so it might no be reliable info

After watching it, it definently had very similar plots and a very similar directing style to requiem so i believed him.

not just drug dealing....the movie illustrated the lives of 4 people revolving around drugs and the addiction of drugs. quite a powerful movie IMO.

Are you referring to it being a sequel to GO! or REQUIEM. Either way different people. SPun was directed By Jonas Ackerlund. Requiem by the great Aronofsky, and GO! by Doug Liman. The writers are also different on all three. They may have like a producer in common though. It is not great but I guess I was a little Harsh in saying SPUN is horrible. It was so-so, I guess.

A must own on BD. The score alone is worth listening to in lossless audio.

Default This movie...

.....sucked so bad. 2 hours of my life ill never get back. To me it was very annoying how they filmed the movie. Only good part was the ending with the "ass to ass" hahahaha.
I remember when I finished watching the fountain, I said, damn this movie sucked ass too, and I looked at the back and saw it was from the same director that filmed this piece of crap.....Just my opinion

yeh the, ass to ass, thing was pretty intense. it seams, unsimulated sex scenes, are becoming more popular in film, and t.v. (H.B.O. Tell Me You Love Me). and, Amazon.com, has a ton of them, and are categorized as such.

I don't think it is proven showing the horrible effects of drugs is really deters self-destructive children. Maybe it gets to a few but maybe others it might even push them further. And you might be surprised at the number of "hardcore" users that get a trip out of watching that film.

I used to smoke ALOT of marijuana (especially at the time i first saw this movie) and i didn't get high for a week or two after watching this movie. For me, a week or two was also an eternity at that point and time.
