Exclamation Mods, we are being overrun by trolls

I have counted close to 10 threads started about black friday sales which have no place on a BD forum. Can we please delete those threads and this one when your done.

You should see the comments under the Warner news story on the front page, among other places, as well.

Completely overrun.

Like I said, a poster should have to be a full member or senior member to start a new thread, this would eliminate a ton of these.

Please! We need to get rid of (delete) most of the FUD spitting trolls. They over run our site cause we are clearly winning the war, which I guess is good in that way, but it looks back to have all this stuff on Google searches, and in general.
Do they realize how bad they make themselves and the entire HD-DVD camp look?
Especially pqfinest which has been making comments in the latest WB news report. His comments are not just anti-blu, they are down right sick! He is a pervert that needs to be banned for good!

I agree the threads need to be reduced or consolidated. I don't agree that they should be deleted (Create a mega thread if you will). I, among others disagree with the BDA's status quo approach as it pertains to HD pricing, both player & software. There are those (perhaps yourself) who feel differently and that's fine, but its an honest discussion of a disagreement on how to respond or not respond to the competition. I think this has a place and needs to be aired. Simply because you disagree with something shouldn't mean you just remove all discussions about it. Consolidate - absolutely, eliminate - NO.

Why give any credit to them. I say delete. If it were a forum like AVS and it was run properly then fine but i see no reason to promote or make people aware of this stuff. There is enough advertising on the web already without having to read through all this crap and then have trolls rubbing it in.

Of course you think this. You'd have every single one of your posts deleted. It would be like you didn't exist at all.

Thank you Mods for this impeccable banning. We thank thee for all that is Blu and good in the world..

sorry.. got into prayer mode there...

I agree we need to consolidate as we have gotten so big, deleting old posts might be a problem, i can see what you mean, but I think we can archive them, in a way that Google searches won't hit on them.

It would help if nobody quoted trolling posts, then it's much easier to clean up without having to delete posts from good members that may otherwise contain something useful.

No..as I said to you in the other thread here

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=453

..you have posted pretty well the same thing dozens of times now..and made statements that definitely are FUD...please read that .. I've been fair..you could at least do the same by responding.

That's a good idea actually, however I think new members should be able to post threads in the newbie discussion area because we don't want to stop them from being able to ask questions. A place like that where there's much less traffic would reduce the problem severly I think. And then it'd be easier to watch as well.

Good plan though I'd vote for that...if this were a democracy.

I just hope no one rushes out and gets one of those things from walmart, they are 1080i not 1080p, so just as fast as they sold, they will be returned anyhow.
