Default Lord of The Rings on TNT HD!

Lord of THE RINGS complete series on TNT..

Didn't see a thread on this.. wow nice picture.. but unbelievable sound! 3/5 PQ 4.5/5 SQ.

Can't imagine this on blu-ray..

TNT HD just finished showing all three in HD.

Picture was soft and cropped -- the films were shot in scope and TNT was showing them in Academy flat. Didn't bother.

I thought I did see grain but maybe it was noise?

Anyway, saw The Two Towers and recorded The Return of the King. Had hoped to record all 3 to compare them to DVD but I never seem to find out in time to catch all 3.

I am not sure if you meant this to be funny, but I actually LOLed.

If you did, kudos to you. That was excellent.

It was meant to be funny. Movies on HD cable - are not blu-ray. To me, blu-ray is the official start of HD picture.

That was only for RotK, the first two had normal commercial breaks. I long for the day when I can pop all 3 movies in consecutively and watch them on Blu. Hopefully whenever they get around to releasing them, they will have the entire extended edition on 1 disc. I prefer the extended versions but hate being taken out of the movie to switch discs.

Also, ive noticed that TNT HD tends to mess with their surround sound compared to when watching the same movie on DVD. Seems like they tend to bump up the sound in the surrounds. Not really sure how they do that, but just something ive noticed.

I thought the PQ blew... but for compressed Comcast cable crap not as bad as it could of been.

The BD version will make the TNT version look like DVD.

Can't wait for the boxset... and if it's not the extended versions I will be waiting even longer.
