Harman Introduces New Receivers

Harman Kardon earlier this week introduced a line of five new audio/video receivers. Two (the 7.1 channel AVR 354 and AVR 254) come equipped with HDMI 1.3a capability, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, while the AVR 154 is a 5.1 channel receiver.

In addition, a pair of stereo receivers, the HK 3490 and HK 3390, offer video switching, and connectivity for iPods and other portable media players.

All five products feature a gloss-black top panel and a graphite lower panel, while the AVR 354 and 254 feature a proprietary full-color on-screen menu system.

The AVR 354, 254 and 154 are set for release later this spring at suggested retail prices of $899, $649 and $399. The HK receivers arrive this month at MSRPs of $499 and $399.

The AVR 354 also comes with Harman’s new Bridge II docking station, which is compatible with both iPods and iPhones, which can be operated easily with a remote control. The Bridge II is also offered on its own, at a suggested retail price of $129.

I'm holding out for the tri-colored models

I've had a lot of AVRs, never a Harmon Kardon, although I've heard many good things.
