Default No Country For Old Men problem/not region free?

Upon receiving my No Country For Old Men Blu-ray today I popped it in my player eagerly and was presented with an on-screen message 'Copyright Violation' - this is an original disc purchased from Movietyme. At first I thought maybe the disc isn't really region free as it has been stated everywhere but then on close inspection of the disc surface there appears to be a thumb-sized 'wet looking- area on the outer edge of the disc, and a small raised bump in this area. Has anybody had a similar problem with a Blu-ray or can lend any assistance please.

For the sound of it, seems like you got a bad disc, hopefully you'll be able to exchange it.

Sounds like some got too excited with their thumbs up. Alert MT and demand a genuine copy with expedited shipping.

I had the same problem. The very first time I put it in I got that error message. It's just a glitch. Try loading it up again, and instead of going "Play Movie", go to "Chapters" and select chapter 1. After that everything should work fine. I not to sure to this day why that happened.

Let me know if this helps you out.

I hate it when people call it "disc rot"..... plastic does not rot!!!

There was most likely an error during the manufacturing of the disc, but it has most certainly not "rotted" since it left the assembly line. The only other cause is damage during shipping. It could have been dropped, scratched, left in the sun, etc. Call Movie Time and demand a new working copy.
