I'm curious to know how long one MGS game would take to complete.
I just sampled Konami's MGS training game on their website (2-d scroller). And boy, it could take up to 30 seconds just to wait for a guard to look the other way. This is a fun game for a student on spring break or summer vacation who can sit at great lenghts to play the game though. |

That's not bad...I probably go and buy the essentials collection tomorrow and play it on the upcoming two Saturdays. I'll definitely try MGS1 and MGS3...

Don't happen to have a Wii or a Gamecube do you? If so, you can get MGS: The Twin Snakes, which is a remake of MGS1 with a lot better graphics. MGS1 and MGS3 are the best, but 2 is very good as well. I wasn't disappointed with any of them, except for the fact you don't play as Snake in MGS2.

It's been a long time but I'd say roughly..
MGS: 8+ hours first play, 3 hours speeding through skipping cutscenes. Few VR training missions. MGS VR Missions / Integral / MGS PC: VR missions - lots more hours. Twin Snakes: MGS minus VR training, think the 'temperature card' stuff was made less backtracky so takes less time. Never paid any attention to completion time. MGS2: 16+ hours first play, never tried speeding through MGS2 Substance: VR missions, silly story missions - LOTS more hours. MGS3: 20+ hours first play, never tried speeding through MGS3 Subsistence: Online play - LOTS more hours. MGS4: 20-30 hours first play according to reviewers. Online play - Lots and LOTS more hours. ![]() MGS2, 3 and 4 are packed full of easter eggs and 4 especially multiple ways of approaching each situation so there's lots to replay for. MGS4 also has some sort of game completion rewards system and the weapons/items/special unlockables etc you collect should carry over to the next play. Thorough first play-throughs of course. ![]() Last edited by Shin-Ra; 06-05-2008 at 06:16 AM. |
