Default Universal Monsters - Which film/monster is your favorite?

Which Universal monster/film is your favorite and why?

I'm watching those masterpieces for the first time (except Dracula and CFTBL which I saw some time ago) and must say that, for now, Dracula, Frankenstein's creature and the Gill-man are my favorites. Not only them, but the films too.
Also, did you guys were ''monster kids'' a.k.a. grew up watching those films and collecting memorabilia related to them?

My favorite monster is Dracula, but my favorite film has to be Frankenstein. That said, I enjoy them all for various reasons.

I just saw all these recently for the first time (except The Phantom of the Opera...still waiting to see that one). All of them are really great films. My favorite, though, is The Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Dracula and Frankenstein have the best stories of the lot, but The Creature of the Black Lagoon is the coolest-looking monster.

My favorite has always been Frankenstein. He was the monster that was "misunderstood". Interestingly enough, the Hulk has always been my favorite comic book character. Later on I found out that Frankenstein's monster was an inspiration for creating Hulk.

The Wolfman series but also the Invisible man because of the fantastic performance by Claude Rains and the effects for that time.

Frankenstein for me. I always liked how the film and story strode to make the monster sympathetic, and the film itself is pretty classy.

Couldn't ever bring myself to care for Dracula that much, I find Bella Lugosi way too laughable and the film a little too dry. Wolf Man is alright, barely remember it though. The Mummy is alright, but also struck me as dry, I think I like it better as an adventure series. Barely remember Phantom of the Opera. Creature from the Black Lagoon is up my alley though, it's petty cool. And I like the Invisible Man--not really scary, I just think it's a hoot.

Would have loved to see a poll on this thread.

My favorite monster is easily the Creature From the Black Lagoon because he just looks so cool. My favorite movie is Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man simply because two top monsters go at it.

You must be the first person I saw saying this hahaha
I just love the way he portrays the character, for me he's the definitive Dracula (although I really like Gary Oldman's version). The accent, the way he stares the camera to hypnotize his victims, way too iconic.
Abou the poll: i'll try to include one

Bride of Frankenstein, with its beautiful fusion of black humor, gothic imagery, horror and humanity is my favorite Universal monster film and just my favorite horror film, period.

Lugosi as Dracula spurred my interest in movies in general and horror in particular and remains an iconic part of my childhood.

I love all the Universal monsters, with the almost fairy-tale imagery and atmosphere in The Wolf Man a particular standout for me visually.

I started collecting the Universal monster movies on Super 8 film, both silent and sound, and progressed to VHS, Laserdisc, DVD and now Blu-Ray. They have remained essential components in whatever format I've collected since I was about 7 or 8.Can't wait for Universal to release the rest of their monster collections onto Blu-Ray!

Must be an unpopular opinion on my part. Never was a Lugosi fan though.
