Default do you feel your eyes are "used" to Blu-ray?

I love my TV and have had it for about a week and half now. Right out of the box it even BLEW my mind. I'm failing to get that same reaction when i watch any blu's now. It still looks amazing but dosn't excite me like when i first got it. It kind of makes me upset, i was wondering if anyone else has felt this way? I think after i get my TV calibrated it may give me that awe inspiring feeling again, but not like the first time i watched Night at the Meuseum.

I have a samsung 46"650 btw.

Edit: I always have the 120 hz on "high" when i watch bd's also

Yeah, and I think it's just heightened my expectations for what movie watching should look like.

I'm still awed at times by my DTV HD 1080i feed through my Sony 55-XS955 HDTV at times.

We have a couple of Sony 32" Trinitron CRT's in the other bedrooms that help keep me in check as to how much better the HDTV look actually is.

Not yet, thank God! I still have plenty of friends and family who have not made the switch yet, so my eyes stay pretty fresh.

I've only watched a couple of movies though. I can still pop in a movie and very clearly see the difference but it just dosn't shock me now .

Depends on the BD being played.
A newer movie or a great transfer that is crystal clear, yeah! I still get Wowed!

A poor transfer or an older film transferred to BD, not so much.
I enjoy seeing people do double-takes when they see me playing one on my laptops.

Them: "Man! That's clear!"
Me: "Yeah, it's Blu-ray!"

If you find that your eyes are 'used to blu-ray' then grab an old tube television and a 1st gen DVD player and play yourself a few DVD's then go back to Blu-Ray.

It'll reboot your system.

Sellme, you are accustomed to greatness, t'is all.

I don't watch movies that much, let alone get around to my blu-rays. But when I do it has been so long since I last watched it I forget how incredible it looked. So there is still some shock value left.

i know what you mean. you take it for granted , at least i feel. it's how it's "supposed" to look. I personally love watching the trailer or the extras if they aren't in HD, that way you get to see the same scenes you saw in SD and than you definitely WOW yourself. I do the same when i'm watching tv. i'll quickly tune to the NON-hd sports channel and than go back. it's soooo much better

i also see stuff in SD and than i can "picture" what it would look like in blu-ray. kind of cool

I'm not down in the theater as much as I am upstairs so when I do turn on the HD, it still usually manages to 'wow' me. Normal viewing is with a 36" crt.

lol this remind of the converstation between my wife and i about HD TV. Her eyes got used to it and see no difference. (I know!!!)

I always disagree and i can notice which is 480i or 1080i. I think im getting used to HD. The day i buy 1080p will be exciting and only for few weeks i believe

My first 2 BD ever purchased and watched are I am Legend and I Robot.

Enough said there.

I also concur with the sentiment on the 28 weeks and 28 days later.

They are a bit grainy and the black is not so black. Overall, not very impressed. Hence the reason I traded them away after watching

:P

Not yet. I still haven't seen the best of what Blu-ray has to offer. I haven't really seen much BDs at all.
