Default Why is the first X-Men not release but the other 2 are?

Is there a reason behind this?

X-3 was released D&D (Day & Date) with the DVD release (or shortly thereafter). The first two are said to be coming later this year.

Unfortunately, studios can't release every single movie we all want. Sometimes you have to wait.

Also, because it is terrible. I would like the first two on blu-ray, no doubt, but man, I am staying as far away from the third one as I can. While Famke Janssen in HD would be nice, I can wait until something else of hers sees a blu-ray release.

I too would like the first 2 Xmen movies. It will come eventually. The 3rd one is decent, sure hope when the other 2 come out they are available as separates as well as a box set. Don't want to have to buy the 3rd one again just to get the first two.

Oh, just for the record, the first 2 are far superior to the last installment.

Its the same reason why they released Lost Season 3 and The Sopranos Season 6.

Didn't think X3 was terrible, thought it was a good effort considering they rushed it out (I think). Yup, the first two were better movies, but I still want the whole trilogy.

I actually liked the 3rd one the most. I wasn't familiar with the comic so the Phoenix character was a complete surprise. I also really enjoyed that part of the storyline. Anyway, I'd like all 3 on blu-ray.

Hopefully they'll re-release the 3rd one as well with the extras that were released overseas.

Yeah, movies like Mrs. Doubtfire, Meet The Spartans, and 27 Dresses etc are more important

I'm waiting for the inevitable X-Men Trilogy box set, so passed on TLS until further notice. I do love that movie though.

It's the movieverse. Which was grounded a lot more in realism than the comics.

The Shi'ar aspects and such would have been totally absurd to folks who don't read the comics.

Hell, even the people who read the comics arn't huge fans of the Shi'ar.

And regardless, the original concept of the Phoenix was Jean's Ultimate Mutation. As was here.

Yeah, and we know how long that "original" concept lasted...

Look, I don't think anybody could seriously fault the movie bigwigs for altering the concept (it's what they did to the whole franchise in all three movies)... but while I think they (for the most part) did a good job of keeping the characters close to their comic book counterparts... I found the movie version of "Dark Phoenix" to fall rather flat. Of course, I found (other than a few scenes here and there) the movie to be rather lackluster compared to the first two.

It was still great to see Iceman "ice up", the "Cannonball Express", and of course, Dr. Henry "Bones" McCoy though!
