Default Friend is looking for TV, but has unreasonable price point (please help)

Hello,

A friend is looking for an HDTV. He wants an LCD because there are a lot of windows in his living room and he doesn't want to have to worry about glare. Also, he sits like 15 feet away from the TV (don't ask why) so he wants something big like 46" or more. This pretty much leaves him at either a 46" 1080p Sony or Samsung LCD set. The entry level in both these brands for that size is about $1499.99 or more. He says will not buy a tv until the price point drops to $1199.99. I just don't see this happening anytime soon. Prices have dropped a great deal as is. If these are his criteria, I just can't see him getting one for a few years.

Another thought, since he sits so far away, is maybe his best value would be a 50" 720p Panasonic Plasma. Are there any 720p panny's that are really good at eliminating glare? I honestly think this might be his best value but he does have a lot of windows so I don't want to suggest something that would have glare all over it.

thanks a bunch.
