I was not too happy when I saw this announced as their next film when I was watching Doctor Strange.

DC has been kicking Marvel's asses in the animation department.

Are you refering to JL: New Frontier or the animated series?

And by the "(looks to be)" I assume you mean the upcoming Gotham Knight.

Just making sure.

I have not seen New Frontier. But I have to say Ultimate Avengers is one of the better films to come out. Iron Man and Ultimate Avengers 2 were not that good and almost painful. Doctor Strange was better then I expected.

I have a hard time buying animated films on Blu. I think DVD's still hold up well in this department (CGI movies are a different story). That is why I have not checked out New Frontier. I dont want to buy the DVD because it is a DVD, but I dont want to spend the extra money for the Blu. I would rather spend the money on a non animated Blu.

After the miserable failure that was Ultimate Avengers 2, I'm surprised they didn't just give up on Avengers until they learned to do it right. Iron Man was good, Doctor Strange was pretty darn good, but they need to invest more into these films and not worry about whether or not they can be played on Cartoon Network.

This looks like crap. It's an insult to the characters to have them usurped by their offspring, and a blatent attempt to grab a younger audience who would undoubtedly benefit more from being exposed to the strength of the original characters.

I agree. It's just silly to revive the Avengers with their children. They don't even look old enough to be superhero material lol. They should have at least been a little older.....like Teen Titans.

I'm actually interested. I have no emotional investment in the Avengers as a comic. Doc Strange was pretty damn good. I didnt really know Strange before going into that one either. My brain will just treat it as a elseworlds tale. And now that I know Hulk is still alive and Ironman joins the action, I'm even more excited.

What was on their schedule after this one? The two Hulk flicks? Or was there something else before that?

Having read up on the story for this one, it's going to be quite good. I've enjoyed all of Marvel's Animated Features so far. And at least they're willing to try something different other than beating Superman and Batman over the head like DC has. Especially given they cancelled the Teen Titans: The Judas Contract in order to roll out another animated Batman film. I wonder how long before the Wonder Woman one is scrapped as well.

Yes as well as the upcoming Teen Titans : Judas Contract which should be awesome.

Dr Strange I think is the one that hurt the most since he has always been a favorite character of mine.
Ultimate Avengers 1 was acceptable but perhaps I was just expecting more, 2 was a headache. I will not even discuss Iron Man.
It feels like Marvel is torn by wanting to tell good stories but feels the need to force in kiddy appeal where as the DC movies seem to go for the fans.

Actually, the idea WAS taken directly from the comics:
"Marvel What If?", final issue--"What If the Avengers Lost the Secret Wars?"
(And retired to a separate dimension to settle down and have kids, only to find out that Earth was in trouble, and the new combination-offspring return to do the job...)

So if "canon" is your complaint...they've got that one covered. Next?

The version looks ridiculous! Children Avengers?? Comon. I hate when they try to obviously make it appeal to kids.

I'm in total agreement with you. I wouldn't knock it until I've seen it. I am definitely interested.
