Default How The Grinch Stole Christmas! (Animated) October 6th

Anybody think 26 minutes is enough for a blu-ray?

They should just release the Jim Carrey Grinch on Blu-Ray and just stick the animated version in there.

Well wether or not I love the Grinch and I will pick this up.

Hopefully they price it accordingly. The Charlie Brown special is only about 25 minutes as well....

I read on a site that it's gonna be $29.99 SRP, which is too much in my opinion. The DVDs are $19.99 SRP, so I would think that the Blu-ray would be $24.99 SRP. Hopefully, there will be lots of good bonus features to accompany the specials.

Unless it's loaded up with new and or HD extras they should put a good price on it.

Since it's so short I would prefer they released it on one disc with several of the other animated Christmas cartoons. Of course I know they're probably all owned by different studios so that won't happen. I'll probably pick it up anyway.

I agree. Hopefully Warner realizes most people aren't going to spend $20+ on 30 minutes or so of content.

There's my source for the price from my post above. So far, it looks like Horton Hears a Who has a pretty good selection of bonus features.

The Jim Carry Grinch is owned by Universal so that will not happen

I'll wait to find out how much better these really even look on Blu-Ray. I already have them on DVD, and I can't see there being THAT big of a difference between the two.

If reviews come out and they are strongly to the contrary, then I may change my mind.

Yeah, as much as I'd like a collection in Blu, I already re-bought the remastered holiday specials last year.

I think they should put the Peanuts Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas specials on one BD, and then I'd definitely be in.

I'm also waiting for an upgrade of their "Peanuts: the 60's Specials" boxset.
(Which would at least cover Christmas, Halloween and Valentine's, although Election and Thanksgiving were on the 70's box.)

Is it official that this, Horton and Gritch will be on separate discs? They'd really have to include something big to make it worth the premium price.

I don't have the remastered Peanuts ones that WB put out (my wife and I have the older Paramount set ones), so maybe these will be worth the upgrade, but even then I'll wait and see because I really have my doubts on how much better these will look on Blu-Ray. If there is a REALLY GOOD sale on them, that might be one thing. But, when the remastered DVDs look as good as they currently do, I see little reason to upgrade.

I do have the remastered version of Grinch as part of a box set of several holiday specials.

I do agree with you about putting all of the Peanuts holiday specials on a single Blu-Ray. That amount of content could easily fit on a single disc without losing any quality.

They might as well take every single copy of the Blu-ray 10,000 feet up the side of Mount Krumpit and dump 'em... Do they really expect people to fork over $25 for a 26 min. cartoon?...

Agree, they go and issue both Grich and Horton as seperate single so-called deluxe edition releases, I will avoid them like the plague! Funny that Warner is issuing A Charlie Brown Christmas, I thought that was a Paramont title, I know for a fact that my DVD version is!
