Default Bd30 Or Bd50???

Hi All, this is my first post, so I figured that "Newbie Discussion" would be the approprite place for my first question. I recently purchased my first Plasma display. It's the TH-46PZ85U from Panasonic. I'm loving it so far, but right now I only have HD cable from Comcast, so I'm not using the display to it's full potential. I have been researching BD players for some time now on this forum, which has been very informative. I plan on getting a BD player as well as a new receiver and speakers. I was thinking about waiting for the BD50 from Panasonic, but I can pick up a BD30 for $386.00. My question is, since the receiver I purchase will be able to decode the audio (probably Onkyo), would I really benefit at all by getting a BD50? What are your thoughts?

You can go ahead with BD30 at that price. If you are thinking of getting onkyo, Check this out.

Cool

You might want to consider a PS3 in light of that $100 gift card deal at Wal-Mart.

I've had the th-42pz85u for a few months now and its fantastic! the 1080i HD channels on Cablevision are great. I've had limited experience with blu-ray. I'm currently fooling around with a bd-rom through my PC and although its mainly working and I've enjoyed the Planet Earth series, I am either less impressed than I thought I would be or I haven't gotten everything set up right yet. I'll be posting more on this but I'm thinking about going with the stand-alone Panasonic Blu-ray player any way. I'm blown away with my Hi-Def ezperience so far and think I've made some good decisions but I so far think MY 1080P is not really 1080p cuz 1080i from my cable co. is at least as good. more later. good luck.

I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, but the other consideration is if you are interested in the BD-Live features. If so, then the BD30 is not your best option as it's only profile 1.1

I have the 30 myself and love it, but I don't care at all about BD-Live. You may have other ideas
