Defect with Beverly Hills Cop Blu-ray? - Blu-ray Forum

Is anyone else having an issue with Beverly Hills Cop?

I bought a copy and returned it because it wouldn't load beyond the Paramount logo. I took it back to Best Buy and they were happy to allow me to return it for the same title. When I got home with the second disc I had the same issue. I have never had this issue before and I know it's not the Blu-ray player because it plays everything else fine.

Anybody know if there is an issue with this disc?? Could I have gotten two bad discs?

What brand blu ray player do you have? Did you check the disc if it has straches or dirty? Try ordering it from Amazon.com and if it does the same thing, it must be the Blu-Ray player, not the disc

Sorry to hear you are having problems.

It loads up and plays fine on my Oppo BDP83.

I'd suggest double checking you have up to date firmware.

It's a Sony Blu-ray player and there were no scratches on the disc. I tried to put a bunch of discs in my player and it is playing everything old and new fine...Pretty sure it's an issue with the disc.

It usually is the easiest fix, and probably most often the problem.
