Default GTA: Episodes From Liberty City coming to PS3 on March 30

http://www.rockstargames.com/newswir...ation_3_and_pc

Quote:
We are happy to announce the much anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Games for Windows® - LIVE on March 30, 2010. For the first time, PlayStation 3 and Games for Windows - LIVE players will have the opportunity to experience the last two thrilling chapters of the Grand Theft Auto IV saga.

The two action packed episodes will also be available for download on the PlayStation Network and Games for Windows® LIVE on March 30, 2010. Each episode boasts the same detailed and immersive Liberty City we all know and love. Games for Windows - LIVE players can enjoy 32-player multiplayer matches and an advanced video editor, and all fans will have the chance to once again listen to the dulcet tones of Liberty City Radio.

The Lost and Damned is a dark trip through Liberty City’s seedy underbelly as outlaw biker, Johnny Klebitz, fights to keep his gang together as a rift in the gang’s leadership threatens to tear the brotherhood apart. In The Ballad of Gay Tony, players explore Liberty City’s high-end nightlife as Luis Lopez, struggling to balance the temptations of money and vice against loyalties to family and friends. Both episodes feature a slew of new vehicles and weapons, and each episode adds new activities including cage fighting, gang wars and BASE jumping.

Cool! Gotta check it out! I've never played Liberty City. How does it compare to the other GTA's?

Great News !

Suck it ! Microsoft for paying $50 to $100 million for this episodic content trying to make this content exclusive to your crap box.

I will seriously laugh if these new episodes come out on PSN and are able to be played in 1080P .

Former microsoft exec Peter Moore at E3 2005

Thinking microsoft was going to win the console war by pulling off this exclusive content deal.

Nice one! Been rumored for a while, and M$ did their best to sweep those rumors and everything else under the rug... but nice to see the content officially coming to where it belongs... the PS3!!

KB24SD Please don't bash other consoles, that's not encouraged here.

Anyways this is great news, I've been wanting to play it, I'm one of the few that enjoyed GTA IV (though it's not as good as the 3 PS2 iterations IMO). I'll buy the 2 DLCs when the price is right for an old port.

Gay Tony is amazing, great over-the-top GTA. I'd love to have it on my HDD at all times.

Lost and Damned isn't all that great though.

As I stated in the GTA IV thread in the PS3 forum (But will re-post here):

Couldn't be more pleased about this news even if I tried!

Perfect timing as well... I started GTA IV from the very beginning again this week to get the trophies, so the release schedule for the Episodes arrival on PS3 should work out well for me!

Are these stand alone or do these require having the original game to play them?

Hope you guys aren't planning on getting the platinum before the dlc comes out. lol If you are, you better plan on doing some serious grinding for that Wanted trophy. Its a pain in the a$$. I swear if i have to hear Jimmy P tell me one more time "now we must drink and forget the bloodshed" I'm going to go insane.

Troll too much?

It's great news that the GTA episodes are finally paving way for PS3 owners.

I'm sure the disc versions are standalone, but the downloadable version.. hard to say.

---

By the by, I remember reading that the sales on the GTA4 DLC were disappointing; perhaps this triggered an out clause for R* from Microsoft's exclusivity contract.

I was thinking the same thing...I'll deff buy it again. I never finished playing the dlc on the xbox because it kept freezing on me all the time...so I just gave up.

Both, you can either buy Episodes of Liberty City and it's stand alone, or you can download them on PSN and it requires the GTA IV disc.

I'm not trophy obsessed fortunately... I'm happy with whatever trophies i can acquire.

If there were more of an incentive to get as many trophies as possible (rewards or some such) then my family wouldn't see me for weeks!... But I'm more of a recreational gamer anyway!
