I have an older Kenwood suuround sound system, which does not support DTS. I have hooked up to it a Sony BDP-S301.
My understanding is that this particular Blu-ray player is not capable of decoding DTS-MA or Dolby TrueHD, etc... If I change the connection between my player and my system (currently a coaxial cable) to multichannel analog conncections, will I be able to take advantage of DTS-MA or Dolby TrueHD, etc... ? If not, what do I need to do? Get a new surround sound system? Thanks to whomever can take the time to respond to me. I appreciate it. |

I am not familliar with that model of player but you say the player is not capable of decoding the new HD audio so that means it just passes it along via HDMI so you will have to buy a new receiver in order to take advantage of HD audio.
At least you will get a new toy. |
