WMV playback - Blu-ray Forum

i know the ps3 can play WMV's, at least im pretty sure

but is there a limit to the size or audio format or subtitle issue etc etc that is exclusive to WMVs?

A limit to the size?

No, not that I'm aware of, I have used this feature to play WMV and WMA files and it works very nicely.

There was a 2Gb size limit to WMV files and this got removed via a recent FW update. (somewhere around 2.2 or so.)

I had a 2.04GB file that wouldn't play before the update and did play after. (It still plays without sound though because some types of WMV audio aren't supported still.)

I've had a lot of problems (latest firmware - well, 2.35 was the last time I tried actually) where it will play avi files greater than 2GB, but as soon as it gets to 2GB it stops with an error.

Anyone else get this?
