Default So now that theyve added software upscaler can we say this will be resolved soon?

Can we say that regular DVDs will be upscalable in the future? as well as Blu-Ray disks being able to be displayed at 720p? instead of only 480/1080i/p?

Ken Kutaragi said that he wants DVD upscaling and 1080p/24fps Blu-ray playback available on the PS3 in the first half of 2007. I'd imagine they'll both arrive in the March 2.0 update.

Ok so the 1080p/24fps blu-ray playback will include the option to play blu-ray movies in 720p??? is that what ur saying? I have a tv that supports 480/720p/1080i, and i wanted to see the difference between 720p/1080i.

When discussing the 2.0 update no one has mentioned Blu-ray playback in 720p so far. I honestly have no idea why the PS3 is incapable of doing it at this time either. However, my guess (but don't take my word for it) is that if they're adding support for 1080p/24fps, they'll go ahead and do 720p as well.

We'll probably have to wait until March to see for real, however.
