PS3 40gb SHINY CHROME!!!! - Blu-ray Forum

I purchased the 80 gig motorstorm bundle a while back
and it had the shiny chrome...it does get a little hot and noisy at times and i dont play it much or even use it a whole lot...But nothing thats too crazy or anything like that....

I was thinking about buying a 40 gig ps3 for my bedroom

I hear the 40 gb is quieter..and uses a different chip than the other models.
A guy at my work took back a blu ray player and got the 40 gig from best buy.

When he opened it...It was shiny chrome trim!!!!
I thought the 40 gigs was a dull chrome look. or grey

I seen a 40 gig before and it wasnt chrome....

Just curious..if the quieter thing and different chip used in the 40 is true
and if the 40 gigs are shiny chrome trim...or dull
and how to tell if theres a difference on the box
If i can get a shiny chrome ps3 thats 40 gig and a giftcard
i will thank baby jesus everynight!!!!!

my friend has shiny chrome on his 40 gig tho

Im wondering how he got shiny chrome on his 40 gig

I now feel ripped off...and on top of that i hear the 40 gig is quieter
and that backward compatability will come in a update..

and you can get the 40 gig and a 100 dollar giftcard at walmart.
You could use the giftcard to buy DS3 controllers
But i never see them in the store tho

My 40GB has "chrome trim" where the disc goes in. Is that what you are talking about?

Looks the same to me?

I guess it COULD be slightly "duller". I dunno could just be the pictures. I havent noticed anything blatantly different between my 40gb and my two friends 60gb.

The actual ps3 is always glossy looking its the chrome trim thats different

theres no vent holes on the bottom of the 40 gig either ???

Its suppose to run quieter tho. good for movies....I HEAR it has a different chip in it than the 60 and 80

I have a 40GB and it has a dull silver, not shiny chrome trim. I wish mine was chrome. As far as I knew 40 GB didn't come with chrome. Maby his was packaged wrong? Mine is very quiet though, I don't hear it at all.

Mine i think is shiny chrome, lol, it's super quiet, watched a DVD on it last night and I couldn't hear a thing, I think its even quieter than my PS2.
