Biased IGN only gives MGS a 10?!?

Where are all the silly people that were claiming that IGN was bias against PS3 because Haze was terrible? Seems they are wrong.

Big ups for PS3 and Sony (and MGS of course).... I dont think I have been so happy to own a PS3. Now I wish I could afford to buy it (and had the time to play it )

Oh man. There's a whole thread about GameTrailers being biased about the score and everything. But like most people say on here, I don't go buy what a "reviewer" on any site says. I'd rather listen to the mass market of all the players and get real feedback.

Especially cause half of them are super uber nerds that I wouldnt agree with their opinion in real life and other matters for the most part... I like seeing the video reviews ... see if the dude looks normal, or has a pocket protector and can remember 1000 numerals of pie

Yeah...lets hope we don't get those people back onto this thread they are just....

Anyway, I just started to play it yesterday and I think its a great game and I dunno if it deserves a 10 as I haven't completed it nor have I played MGS Online.

Though its definately on the right track!

My only complaint so far is the accuracy of the weapons. From personal experience with some of these sort of weapons I have a good feeling how accurate they should be. Though perhaps they did it to make it more difficult. Either way thats just 1 small critique and everything else is outstanding.

Even if Gears 2 gets a 10, that is awesome.

As much as I support the PS3 and blu and everything, having these games get such high reviews is not just good for them- it is good for the video game industry in general.

Finally, we have products that can compete/compare sales wise and quality wise with blockbuster movies... Iron Man, Wall-E, Indiana Jones... if games can get to this caliber then we can just keep expecting amazing games.

Now all we need is to get soccer moms to stop buying Chicken Shoot for the Wii, then the public can demand real games.

I hate this game! The story is horrible, gameplay sucks, stupid concept.......................................That s what i would say if it was opposite day But its not. Game of the year for me hands down! Hideo Kojima has once again succeeded to create crack in a playstation case. Seriously, I'm at work right now and i'm itching because i need my MGS4 fix

you know i never thought ign was biased. Haze deserved a horrible score because it was horrible.
ign in the US waited till the game came out so they could give a fair review. because kanomi limited them on what they could talk about. even with the fair review it got a 10 and they wanted to give it an 11.

i want to wait and see resistance 2 before i judge for the game of the year.

Boy howdy am I glad this thread got taken the right way...

Haze WAS a garbage game, and yet, as should be expected, many people liked it and some loved it. The fact is the reviewable parts were not good. I agree for the people above that said to jusy try it. If you like a game with a low score, that just shows that you found something to like about it, not that the review was bad...

Anyway, this excites me for PS3 and MGS etc. Gives me hope that other highly hyped games can live up. Irritates me that they jumped the gun with a 10 on GTAIV (clearly this reviewer wished they had not) but even that is good for everyone involved.


I cant wait to play this game... Damn money trouble.

The storyline is pretty convoluted, and if you start in the middle of the series, you might be surprised by some unexpected twists that really change the theme.

At least that's what I thought when I started with MGS2. Although a good game, I can't say that I loved it. Great gameplay, but sort of uninspiring story. Playing the previous titles might have provided the character development needed to change that opinion though.

MGS3 on the other hand, I thought was fantastic, hands down. Better variety in the environments (since you weren't stuck at one location), better mechanics, and great story. I frigging loved this game.

Still have yet to play MG1 or MG2 on the bonus disc.

Killzone 2 has been pushed to Feb 2009 to make some room for Resistance 2.
It has also been hinted that if they had wanted to, Killzone 2 would have been ready to release at that point, so imo Sony must be mighty confident in how R2 can do, because it will obviously be compared to GoW2 by most critics.
