Default Sweeney Todd Looks Great

I just got this the other day more or less because it was in a nice shiny steel book and there's not that many of them going about on blu

The transfer it self is for the most part is excellent. The few things i did take issue with where the opening scene where detail was a little overshadowed by the strong levels of black. Grain is sharpened and is more pronounced in darker scenes of the movie and the blood looks very much fake.

This aside it's a 5 star transfer over all. Everything is accurate and detailed although i can't comment on the audio as i was wearing ear phones sorry.

You still won't go wrong adding this to your blu-ray collection though.

To my knowledge it's paramount that hold the distribution rights in the states so thats why you guys have not got it yet. I don't think paramount will release the steel book edition ether which is disappointing cause it's a very sexy case indeed

Il take some pics and post them later on mybe

I think the blood looking fake had nothing to do with the transfer, it was the actual fake blood itself. It was almost pink, kinda like pepto bismal (but not as pink obviously)

You can get Sweeney through XPLOITED CINEMA (a Cleveland-based store):

http://xploitedcinema.com/catalog/sw...y-p-13945.html

See the details there too.

It looks like the extras can be watched with no problems, unlike other foreign Blu Rays.

I got it as well. SB was well worth it! Transfer is great except for the opening scene. True HD needs to be selected as it is set on default dolby. Opening credits with the blood, looks fantastic!

Mine should be here tomorrow or by the end of the week at the latest, the blood to my knowledge isn't really supposed to look amazingly real.

You can grab the identical regular H.K version from yesasia.com for $29.99 incl shipping after applying $3 coupon code. If you have $5 coupon you can probably order ST along with Peter Pan or Erin Brockovich (SPHE - Korean Versions) which have English menu, audio, subs and packaging.

Glad to hear it looks good! The fakeness of the blood doesn't bother me. That's not the part of the movie I'm in love with anyway.

I ordered mine off of amazon.co.uk as well. It should be coming in on Monday the 16th.

I have to agree with the original poster this is an absolute must own, the sound and picture are fantastic.

And I also love the movie as well, if you don't like musicals though i would stear clear I'd say 70% of the film is sung!

It arrived a few days ago. Not only is Sweeney Todd a great film, but this Blu-ray release really does it justice. Great picture and audio quality.

Yeah, I think the import looks good and except for the musical aspect, I thought the movie was good as well.

I don't mind musicals but didn't like it in a horror movie. By the mid-point of the movie, I had started playing the songs at 1.5x to get through them a little quicker hoping not to lose the mood of the horror aspect of the movie.
