? about PS3 - Blu-ray Forum

I just a PS3 for my daughter and my question is this; The HDMI connection is it a standard HDMI cable or is it something proprietary from Sony, meaning a Sony connection at one end and a HDMI connection at the other. I haven't even taken it out the the box yet, the wife won't let me. She will be over this weekend so I wil have to hook it up to my system to play.

No you can use a standard HDMI cable to hook up the PS3.

I would suggest you go with the cheapest HDMI cable you can find too, theres no difference in quality, just length really.

The longer the cable, the more you're likely to pay for it.

Thanks. I know there isn't a HDMI cable in the box, she can buy the cable. I figure I got her a good start by buying the PS3.

Definitely steer her towards monoprice.com. The prices there beat all the brick n' mortar store prices for HDMI cables. I've never had probs with the cables I order from them

How badly do SONY need to include a HDMI cable!

I know plenty of people who know very little about HD and they are hooking their ps3 up to 40"+ tv's using the composite cables that are included, thinking that its the best they can get out of it.

What a blurry mess!
