Default MTX Audio

Does anybody have any experience with MTX audio? I saw them for sale on partsexpress.com and was just wondering if they are a good deal.

Thanks

I have worked with MTX subs & amps in car audio applications. Quality varried depending on model line. Some nice and some not so nice. That was about 11 years ago though but anyhow what are you considering?

yeah, Ive only really ever heard MTX with car audio...never knew they went Home Theater? ...MTX was sort of a budget brand, but I guess it would be on par with say sony speakers?

I had an MTX Thunder 9500 12" sub in my vehicle in a ported box, powered by an Orion 2500D, it was loud, but not very musical.

I used to go through MTX subs like a three year old goes through underwear. I replaced them with JL W3s and never had a problem. This was in my car, can't say much for their home audio...

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like these are about on par with my KLH speakers. I'm going to go to Magnolia HiFi tonight to listen to the different brands as reading reveiws only helps so much.

Thanks for the help.

After listening to the Speakers, I decided to spend a fortune and buy Martin Logan. Now, I just have to wait a couple of months to save up the money.

Envious, excellent taste though. Consider it an investment.

Hopefully I get some responses as new speakers are my next upgrade. So many choices and I wish I was able to audition everything in the 3-4K range.

I assume these were the speakers the OP was talking about?

It is. Now I am looking at getting the Martin Logan Source for
$2000 a pair. They sound amazing.

Wow, big difference between plan A and plan B there.

Great choice. I'm sure you'll be pleased with Martin Logan's. I love electrostatic speakers as well as ribbons. Enjoy!

When I started shopping for my tv I was looking for something about 42" and $1000 and I ended up with a 52" XBR3, but I got a killer deal.
