Is hmurchison an insider?

I don't know, but I've seen a lot of posts recently from Kosty and some of them indicating he is an insider for some degree, since he mentioned that he was at press conference at CES which requires some privilege (mainly for press). He also stated that he did know the title release list before it was revealed to the public.

Now... who is he?

Perhaps he's tighter with or even works directly for Toshiba now, but that I don't have evidence of.

I never saw that admission. If true, then not clearly indicating to the membership all along that he would have direct financial benefit from HD DVD success is rather dirty pool.

I'll do it next time he crosses me. I'm not scared of him or Amir.

Okay, the link to hmurchison admitting he's a rep for Toshiba is at this post in the AVS archives. Since that portion is read-only, he can't edit it. I have an image, but this is my first time with ImageShack, so let me know if this is right:

I love the little quip from Gary (aka dialog_gvf), and I'm glad to refresh his memory.

I love the little quip from Gary (aka dialog_gvf), and I'm glad to refresh his memory. Since it's a public admission on his part, I take no responsibility for people mentioning this on AVS, HighDefDigest, EngadgetHD comment boards, YouTube, or anywhere he shills--whoops, I mean posts--about
Wow, that is funny that I completely forgot that.

Last March. OK, that makes sense. It was during the posturing before the actual war broke out.

After it became directly beneficial for him, he should have made his affiliation clear.

How many of the usual suspects are Toshiba or Microsoft reps?

I always suspected as much. That explains everything. That kind of information needs to make its rounds.

It explains why he's really such a pathetic tool and apologist.

If you take a moment and look through his post history just here before he was finally put out of our misery...it just explains everything.

I hope he's never allowed back in here.

That's very interesting, because about a month ago, I posted on the HD-DVD.com forum and got into a brief dialog with hmurchison about the XA2. I asked if he was getting one, and he said this: http://forum.hd-dvd.com/showpost.php?p=1328&postcount=6

In other words, he doesn't even have a player-- any player-- yet! He lost all credibility with me right there. And as an alleged Toshiba rep, this doesn't speak very highly about his confidence in their product.

Thanks for posting the link to where he stated he was a rep. I made a report on one of his recent posts stating that he should be sig'd like nataraj and archibael. Even though he's not representing his company on AVS, he is a rep FOR them and it should be listed. If they don't, then nataraj and archibal should have theirs removed.

Who is going to make the post calling him out and reporting him? And at the same time, ask publically if Kosty works for toshiba or not. I mean, its obvious to ALL of us that he does, but i dont think he has stated if he has or not.

It shouldn't be done in public. It should be done privately, just as folks here would want it done. Making a public issue of it does not help the mods or the forum in general. Once (if) his sig changes, then it can be brought up publicly.

For sure Kosty is one of them. He PMd me and asked what I thought of the XA2. I said I was disappointed and that I returned it for five bugs/flaws that I encountered, and then I listed them in detail. Later, he replied and said he forwarded my gripe list to Toshiba, as did Robert from VE and Amir. If he wasn't an insider, I sincerely doubt he would have bothered.

He's basically taken over the sister forum of this place, www.hd-dvd.com, so I wouldn't mind seeing someone take it to him right there.
