Default DVE HD Basics

I bought this to calibrate my tv. I have a a 42" Hitachi Plasma 1080i. When i am using the calibration disc the first test that adjust your brightness with the 3 black lines on the side and the white to black going virtcal in the middle, i cant see the 3 lines on the side no matter how bright i turn the brightness up , so there for i cant really set the brightness like it should, well my Dad bought my BDP-S300 and i took the disc to his house to calibrate his tv for him (Samsung 52" DLP 1080i) and the first test was exactly like it should be, you turn the brightness up and you see all 3 shades of black lines on each side of the spluge. So i was able to get more precise calibration on his TV. The player I had the bdp-s300 and now have a PS3 and i can still not see the lines as i shoud on my tv to set the brightness. Anyone know why this could be am i missing something? Please Help.

I think this is caused by your tv and not the ps3. I had not issues using the disc with my ps3 or xbr5. try it with another tv and the ps3 to eliminate the tv as the issue.

If you set one of the display settings to Auto, see if you see all shades of Black then. I can't remember how it's labeled exactly, but it's the one that adjusts the output between RGB and Ycb.
