Default TV stand opinions

After shopping around for a couple months, I cant find a suitable TV stand, so I am making my own.

My idea was to go with a Red Oak, because it is the darkest wood I can get 3/4" ply in for a reasonable price.

now then, features and details I already have going on (this is where I want some input)

1. Full extention heavy duty slides for my equipment, so that I can mess with the wiring with ease.

2. 4" Fan (1 or 2, not sure) to circulate air behind the equipment

3. Male to Male cord to lug the stand into the wall (x2 for power reasons) with the surge protector built in behind the equipment. More of a nook that built in, so i can swap it out in the future.

4. Doors will be 1x3 frame with this mesh insert, for flair, in either Stainless or copper (not sure)

5. BD storage for 104 disks on either side (stacks of 13 in rows in the cabinet and on the doors)

6. PS3 is upright in my first plan

24" tall by 48" long by 16" deep total will be around.

I am looking to make it more useful. Anyone who wished their TV stand or entertainment center had, please let me know. I have built a lot of this kind of junk, but never for myself. Any input would be good.

Right now the total cost would be around $240

I think my two big things are not black, and air flow for my PS3. I can buy a glass stand, but nothing beats building something yourself.

Lets hear it, please.
