You shouldn't mess with Clint Eastwood then.

Sorry, now is not the time for jokes. Sorry to hear about that, and am sorry I too can be of no more help. Is it possible the power cable got pulled out or the system just overheated?

seriously though the same thing happend to me months ago, but it was only one section in my room. everything else was fine, seems like a power surge.

I know what you're thinking: 'Did Dirty Harry Blu-Ray fry my Playstation ' But to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I've kinda lost track myself. But being this is a Playstation 3 , the most powerful Blu-Ray player in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Did I check the circuit breaker' Well, did you, punk?

All these responses and not a single helpful one?

Do you have your PS3 connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS unit)? If you don't, I highly recommend doing so. My guess is that you got a power spike or other anomaly which fried the 110v circuits in your PS3's power supply. Lucky for you, the 220/240v from the EU power connector is apparently still working.

Have you tried buying a new power cord? The surge might have damaged the cord itself somehow. With it working with the second power cord that sounds like that might be the issue.

I've been watching the Dirty Harry Collection on my stand-alone bluray player because of this thread, I am too scared to try it on my new PS3.
