Somewhat Off topic but this thread is going nowhere and full of nerds. Is the upcoming Magneto and Wolverine movie financed by Marvel as well?

Yes they are. And I believe all Marvel movies are now done strictly by Marvel Studios from what I read.

Even the next few Spidermans will be under Marvel financing and control? I thought Sony or someone else still had rights.

Some, but not all. Universal still owns quite a few of them. Sure, Marvel Studios will have a part in it, but they're not alone in the making of the film. I believe Universal bought the rights to Captain America, Thor, Ant Man, and they still own The Hulk.

Yeah, Sony still does own Spidey. Fox owns the X-Men. And Paramount owns Iron Man. If there's going to be an Avengers movie, it will most likely be made by Universal with select characters.

Ok cool, then I am confused. I had thought Marvel created Marvel Studios to do everything themselves and not sub it all out.

Iron Man was solely Marvel right? What does Universal have in regards to owning the Hulk?

Universal owns none of these. They sold the Hulk back to Marvel with a first refusal right to distribute. Marvel owns all of these.

Marvel owns Iron Man. Paramount just distributed the picture. You are right on the other properties.
