Default Hulk WILL flop...

This movie is a disaster! I am 100% postive this movie is going to be the summers 2nd biggest flop (behind Meet Dave). And while I really like Edward Norton I still can't help but root for this movies failure. When I heard they were "reimagining" (if thats even a word) I thought, "ok, cool." I mean afterall, the first Hulk looked pretty rediculous with all that huge green CGI crap. I was actually looking forward to a more "real" Hulk. Much like the T.V. show. But then when I saw the first teaser for this movie I was dumbfounded. WHY? WHY would they go the EXACT same route with this version? What is the point? I honestly think the majority of the public is smart enough to recognize this garbage and stay away. I would be willing to bet on it! Okay, just had to get that off my chest.

Default You Are Nutz

while i hated the first one as well, your reason for this one flopping is rediculous. what is real to you? where is the real life 9 foot green monster to compare. this hulk is extremely better in detail and cgi and story is action packed and will, and i quote WILL be better than iron man. It isexactly what 99% of fans wanted from the first one, action action action and a good story. you are basing your hatred off of cgi and realism. that is a terrible reason to hate a movie which deserves credit on cgi which is much improved this time around. you are not a true hulk fan. you are just a hater and do not realize good detailed cgi when you see it. you live in a imaginary world where 9 foot green monsters walk around and are REAL.

worste post EVER

Why would a great actor like Ed Norton get involved with this ?

I agree. Did you see the movie or are you basing this opinion simply on the trailers? The CGI work is leaps and bounds better, or at least they made a better model for him. I'm anxious to see this, though I admit I'm a little more anxious to see The Dark Knight.

If Sex and the City can make that much money I'm sure The Hulk won't Flop

HULK FOR PRESIDENT!
Sex and the city made 55 million in its first weekend at the Box office in the US. It should end its theatrical run with a little over 100 million, depending on how much it tapers off this weekend.

The hulk is expected to make somewhere in the area of 25-35 million, so yes, in terms of CGI movies, it will flop. Its not the only major release though, as "The Happening" is also out, but I dont see the film being a huge hit at the box office, M Night's popularity has dwindled over the years, and I dont expect that movie to make a lot (maybe 20-25 mil range), competition will still come from Zohan/Kung Fu Panda.

The numbers arent in yet for how much Panda made yet on Friday (Should be in today around 3), but depending on the numbers, Panda could very well be #1 at the boxoffice two weeks in a row. Zohan was god awful, and its doubtful it will be #1, but Zohan will still make a sizeable amount.

Heres next weeks numbers (estimate)
Kung Fu Panda - 40million ish
Hulk - 32 million
Happening - 22 million
Zohan - 18 million

Hulk will not be a big draw, as everyone STILL remembers what the previous one was like. Panda will strike with parents and kids (and the only movie available at the time for them to see), and The Happening doesnt have enough promotion behind it to be a huge blockbuster, it will make more on dvd in the upcoming months, and most Sandler movies tank after the first weekend, but Zohan should still end up with 90-100 million after all is said and done.

Because the TV show was really NOT like the in the Comic book. Really, problem with Hulk is that people have the crappy tv show in the end and that was hulk is.

This hasn't happenned with Batman because it's a just Rich Normal Guy with Psy Problem on a revenge road. But imagine if people remembererd only the original TV serie and wanted that.. LOL!

Summers biggest flop is Speed Racer will make less than $50 million and cost $120 million.

Hulk should make between $40-$50 million opening week (probably beating Speed Racers total) it could make more. Stan Lee said this one would be more popular than the last one which made $132 million.

Would you really have gone to see it if it was like the TV show and had a wrestler or body builder (maybe Titan from American Gladiators like he will do in an upcoming episode). If something like that was done no one would see the movie.

Assuming the movie is actually good $200 million is what Marvel should hope for because of the damage the first did.

I thought Ironman was going to flop when they first announced it stared Robert Downy JR but so far it seems to be the movie of the summer blockbusters and it was really fun to watch. I'll give Hulk a watch. Looks interesting

You're wrong. Sorry, but you are. Do you have an industry source for your forecasts or is it just you? Panda is going to make approx $55/$60 million this weekend (industry insiders). There is no way it's going to make $40 next week. Hulk will make at least $60 million next weekend.

Every review that's come out has been positive. He's only been around for 45 years and is the most popular Marvel character next to Spider-man.

Hulk is one of the best known superheroes, certainly more known than Iron Man.

But the stink of the first film will hold this one back a bit in terms of earnings.

What they should say, is that this movie isnt like the first one, but will be better. I personally will see it because the director is awesome. Ang Lee is horrible and thats why The Hulk flopped.

I personally dont like the Hulk tv series (kinda stupid), Hopefully this movies is 100% action, i dont want to see this stupid BS drama again. It will definitely do better than expected

Every review I have read says that the Incredible Hulk is nearly as good as Iron Man. In recent weeks the buzz on the film has increased due to the marketing campaign that differentiates from the first film. Also the success of Iron Man adds to the presentation of the Marvel Studios brand.

This comment reveals your ignorance. I am sure you believe Iron Man to be a "popular" superhero?
