Any 1440p sets comming out? - Blu-ray Forum

Just wondering if any Television sets are comming out w/a rez higher than 1080p anytime soon.

Not anytime soon...1080p still isn't the de facto standard yet. There were some that were supposed to be mass produced in 2007, but none of them came to fruition.

Why? What's the viewing distance between you and the TV now? 1080p and 1440p, according to the graph, are pretty close, so why adopt a new TV costings probably a grand more, for such a small improvement?
