Question Does tower.com ship every movie early, or was Transformers special?

I found myself regretting ordering Transformers from Amazon as I officially waited waited 14 months and a day for the blu-ray disc since the movie release day.

Lots you guys were getting it so much sooner through tower.com. Do they always do this?

No, but I already have The Mist too and they were shipping Speed Racer last week. They were also shipping 1408 early too, don't know if they still are. You have to check. Sometimes they also abruptly stop and put the movie's status back into pre-order. I think the majority of the titles they ship on release day though. Someone should start a thread for Tower Records early shipping Blu-rays, that way everyone would know what they are shipping early. I had also pre-ordered Transformers from Amazon, but cancelled my order and ordered from Tower, I did end up paying a dollar or two more, but I didn't really care.

I agree on the official early shipping thread, though it shouldn't be exclusively for Tower.

I got Transformers early from Axelmusic.com after reading on this forum about them shipping it early.

I then tried getting Nightmare Before Christmas early from Tower but not luck. I had to cancel.

tower.com just happens to be particularly inept in that way at this moment. The problem with starting an official thread dedicated to pointing out those flaws means that they may ultimately fix this problem quicker due to all the attention if they ever figure it out...

An official early shipping thread makes sense. The only problem is that retailers can get in trouble with the studios if it becomes widely known they're breaking street dates and then the early shipping retailers would stop that practice. I know of at least a couple of places that ship early.

Ugh. Tower shipped my copies of Chuck season 1 and Torchwood season 1 last Tuesday and Wednesday, but my copy of Speed Racer shipped Friday and got here yesterday (and Chuck and Torchwood haven't showed up yet).

That's actually not true at all for me. Family Video has tax and you need a code for Free Shipping. And not only that, you do NOT get your movies early. When I used the code for free shipping, they didn't ship my item out early. And it's now Thursday and I still haven't recieved my movie that came out on Tuesday.
