Mine is just sitting there because it crapped out on me and is unuseable. I purchased an external encasing to try to salvage some stuff but it didnt even work in there.

Mine is sitting in the box that the new one came out of. This raises an interesting point...

If you ever need to send your PS3 back to Sony so it can be repaired/replaced, I'm pretty sure that you need to put the old HDD back in first. Hopefully everybody has kept their original one.

I have no clue what your talking about..How come that isn't part of the poll, cause I really don't. My PS3 is the same way I bought it.

I think Sony wants you to remove your HDD before sending it in for service if I rememeber correctly.

You failed twice in the same word with "u're".

I keep mine in some kind of anti-static bag in a shelf in case I'll need it one day.

Mines sitting in the box for the new one I bought. Haven't really found a need for a 60 gb had drive with a 750 gb external networked drive staring at me from BB's order screen.

I got an external case for it, but I haven't reformatted it yet - not sure what I'll do with a 60 gig drive - it isn't until you start considering what to use it for that you realize how small 60 gigs is.

I'm keeping it, will be getting an External USB 2.5 at some stage, though.

Exactly! Just like the reason why you switched it out to begin with!

I got it just sitting there. Never know what might happen. If the one in there now ever craps out on me I'll have one ready right away.

Exactly, which is the reason that I said it!

Sorry Mike, I often have severe bouts of uncontrollable sarcasm.

About the only thing I can think of to use it for is to use it as an external drive that you don't mind transporting here and there, that way if it gets dropped or something, no big loss.

I still have the original 80gb in there. Havent really found a use for my BD player to have a bigger drive.
