Default TV's for my mom :D

Hey guys , i've been shopping around for my mom and she's looking to upgrade her tv's. I was looking at the Samsung 32" 1080 P at best buy for about 1200$ and seemed like a nice TV. I just bought the Samsung 52" and i've been very satisfied so i figured i'd continue with them. I'm going to be going to fry's this weekend as welll to check their tv so if i can be on the lookout for something else it could be useful

I wanted to ask your opinion on it or if you could suggest something else in that price range as well. She's looking to essentially buy two of the same tv. It can't be higher than 32" though. Price range 2500-3000. Here is link

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1202648738906

Also, i'm looking to buy cables at monoprice.com. I've never shopped there but figured i'd give it a try after hearing so many positive comments. However , i'm a little intimidated by all the different HDMI cables available. Anyone suggest which one's i should get for that tv? Fast shipping?

Thanks to anyone who can help me out

dont listen to him lol. the samsing 4065 can be had for 1200 or less on amazon or play make a deal if you can find it. the 4061 he sent you only has an 8 bit processor the 65 has a 10 bit. also its 5,000 more contrast. its the tv i have and its pretty good, i did lots of research on it, but you might be able to get the panny 85U in a 42 inch for 1400 ish if you shop around. it blows my samsung away.

and i use monoprice. just make sure you get the 1.3a ones. guage just depends if you are runnign them through the wall or you want to lessen the interference from other electronics.

happy hunting

Panasonic - 37" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV ($999)

Panasonic - 42" Class 1080p Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV ($1,350)

these would have much better contrast and bigger in size.

3ft HDMI

6ft HDMI

10ft HDMI

At 32" it's advantageous to buy a 720p set as not many people can tell the difference between 720p and 1080p unless you're sitting two feet away and looking for the difference. Not to mention you can significantly drop the price you will pay if you go with 720p. Samsung is a good brand, I have a Sony and I really enjoy it. If you're looking for a budget TV that is very good quality I would check out ViewSonic.

I would agree and go with the bigger size. It just seems like older viewers would be better able to see a difference given a bigger size (and I'm just guessing)

That's what i was thinking too but at the store, there was a 125$ difference between the 720 and the 1080p version which was surprising but that's why i kept looking for a 1080p. Thanks to everyone for their help

i also wanted to ask. Any horror stories about keeping a TV over a fireplace? There is a ledge above my fireplace where i was thinking about putting this tv. The odds of using the fireplace are very slim but if by any chance it is turned on, is it close enough that it can be dangerous to the tv? Thanks

I only recommended this one because the other 4065f's are hard to find, I actually own the 4665f model, but I do agree the 65f's are the better model.

Thanks for all the help!!! I went to fry's and picked up something a little better than expected. I picked up the Samsung 40 LN40A650A1F for 1499. Pretty good deal considering it was 2000 at bestbuy. The price between the 120hz and 60 hz was 300 bucks so i figured just buy it and be set for a long time. My mom's old tv lasted over 15 years so this one should be fine for a very long time!! I haven't hooked it up yet, waiting on those cables from monoprice. Thanks again guys

convinced my mom to just get one , a nicer one / bigger one and use an older one for her "office"
