Default bdp s300 blue ray player

i need help you guys.. why does it take my blue ray player nearly 2-3 mins to load up, and then it takes some blue ray discs to load up about the same time too. is it my player as ive done the update and it makes no difference.. all does this happen on all blue ray players/and discs. my normal dvd player takes 10 secs or so to load and the same as the disc.

To answer your question, Blu-ray Java coded discs (BD-J) creates long load times. Non-BD-J load in about 30 seconds.

But yes, you need the new 3.95 firmware. Depending on how old your firmware is, you'll see a noteable difference.

Just curious if anyone else has had difficulty play V FOR VENDETA on the Sony 300. It is the only bluray which will not play. I have the 3.45 firmware - and ordered the 3.95 today - but am curious if anyone else has had difficulty with this title.

^ WHOA!!! Drink some coffee and relax. My S300 works like a dream. I update the firmware religiously. I keep it clean, it is in a doored off shelf of my TV stand, so no dust gets into it. I just take care of my stuff.

And i take extra care of my stuff, 2 perfect blu-rays that use to work do not anymore, maybe my player was just one of the unlucky faulty ones

3.95 has been available for days. Have you tried that? What else do you have to lose?

I already upgraded to 3.95, made absolutely no difference, The Guardian freezes on "your movie is about to begin" as with World Trade Centre, freezes before the movie begins, end up i tried to restore my player to its default settings by pressing and holding the STOP and POWER button, it restores it to the point where u have to set up the audio and picture preferences but if you check the firmware its still 3.95 !

I updated the firmware on mine and it still loads slow. Never had a problem with it playing anything whatsoever. Keeping your gear clean and cool is great, but i doubt that's why bdp-s300's have slow load times. They're slow. That's why i bought a ps3, among other reasons.

the sony bdps300 is a slow clunky POS

I had it, and lost it in my break up with ex (she has it, i kept ps3)

I replaced it with a bdp1400 and it was good for a few months and died.

Replaced that one with BDP-s350 & it destorys all blu-ray players....best by far save ps3.
