Default Do you buy movies...

that you've already watched in theatres? Why? Is it just for the collection and pride of owning it or is it because you like to see a great movie many times? Which movies did you get that you've seen in theatres? Pirates 3?lol

I don't go to the theater very often, so most of my movie purchases are movies that I'm remotely interested in. If I do see a movie in the theater, and I liked it, then yes I will buy it.

I am more likely to buy a movie that I saw in the cinema and want to watch again in the future.

I might buy a movie that I really wanted to see if I can get it cheaply, and moreso if the reviews liken it to movies that I enjoyed.

Most theatres movies are edited, once they come out on video they add scences that they couldn't have on the big screen or weren't ready for. Watching the movie on dvd is way better then theaters.

A little bit of both. I love owning a movie I loved in the theaters. I also like knowing that I can freely watch a movie anytime I feel like it, even its the 800th time.

I love movies. I used to go to theaters a lot but now I go much less because many theaters I've gone don't get the focus or the framing right, etc, and it saddens me, knowing how good the 35mm film should look.

Case in point: When I saw The Incredibles on the theater, it looked worse than the NTSC DVD. A far, far cry from the 4k/3k render screenshots I have seen.

Yep that's always disappointing. And unfortunately instantly obvious to anyone who isn't asleep at the wheel as it were.

I just buy movies as my collection and for my family to watch when I have my family around.

I do not watch movies that much in Theaters. Last time I watch movie in theater was November 17 2006, D. Craig as Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 in Casino Royale. I select movies to watch in theaters unlike how I select on dvd, Blu-ray, and HD DVD. One of movies this year, that I will 100% sure that I will watch is Live Free or Die Hard this summer.

I usually go to the movies every Friday after work. I also buy tons of movies (my main hobbie )

I moved to Blu-ray on Dec 20, 06 and I now have about 20 movies with at least 5 more on pre-order. I also rent from Netflix for those movies that I don't want to purchase. I use their $10 plan which includes 1 movie at a time with unlimited rentals per month.

Lately I have been preferring to watch Blu-ray movies from home instead of going to the theater because of the awesome PQ/SQ. It's really a whole new ball game now. Besides that I could almost buy a new Blu-ray movie for the cost of a movie ticket plus popcorn and a coke.

Every movie I have in my collection I saw first in a theater. There were alot of times we went every week on a Sunday. It was half price, still is and popcorn is refillable. Looking forward to seeing Ghost Rider soon.
