Default Dolby Digital output

I have a older non hdmi sony reciever 5.1 setup and when i get it to run in dd and the blue light comes on over the display it sounds amazing and lights up all the speakers on the display read out.

Problem is, it is only on a few disc i own that will run this way, warhawk defaults to this dd preset but newer movies like rambo do not. Am i doing anything wrong with the settings or is it just a matter of only certain disk will run my reciever this way?

You might want to play around with the setting on the receiver. What are you using as a Bd player.

The ps3, running the optical straight to the reciever as when i went from the tv it would not let me use dd for anything. Every other channel preset only lights up fronts, center and sub, i can hear sounds out of the rear but not anywhere near as loud when it runs in dolby digital.

Did you choose the Dolby Digital track on the BDs that these didn't work?

It also sounds like your receiver can't do DTS.

You're only getting 2 channel over optical for PCM. You have to manually select the Dolby Digital track
