The Office Season 6 Framing Error - Blu-ray Forum

I had no luck doing a quick find for a thread devoted to The Office S6, so here goes...

During the episode 'Scott's Tots' on Disc 2 of the set, the last car segment with Michael & the receptionist in the car was framed wrong on blu(maybe DVD too). By that I mean, there's a black border around the entire shot, as if the shot were not 16:9 enhanced. Did it appear like this when it was originally aired? Anyone else notice this?

It is on the DVD as well. And yes it was like that when it originally aired.

How very odd. I honestly don't know why this would occur.

Maybe it was shot at a lower res, and they didn't want to blow it up to 1080.

i didn't notice it because i could barely look at the screen watching that episode the first time. skipped it on the blu ray. my god. awful
