Writer / director / actor / producer / composer Duke Mitchell set out to create a tribute to his heritage, and delivered an earnest, impassioned, straight-faced and naively lunatic slice of cinema. All the post-GODFATHER cliches about Italian-American gangster life are present and accounted for, ramped up to the extreme but never devolving into parody. You get the feeling Duke had no idea he was making an exploitation movie -- and the world's a better place because of it.

Reviews are going up for this one. Go to the Grindhouse Facebook page to see some. Apparently Amazon has started fulfilling pre orders for it. ImportCD's still don't have it in stock but if Amazon got their copies hopefully other retailers aren't far behind!

Got mine in. Everything looks fine except a huge crack in the top part of the case.

Looks like I'm going through the replacement process at Amazon.

At least I wasn't going to watch it immediately, especially since I've seen the movie. I'm planning to pair it with Gone with the Pope for a double feature.

Just got through the majority of the Massacre Mafia Style blu-ray and this is by far the best disc I've bought in YEARS. Worth twice the price. Grindhouse kicked the s*** out of this release. I'm still in awe of the fact that I'm holding a blu-ray of this masterpiece. Cannot wait for Gone with the Pope.
